by myshaheer on June 6, 2010

On my last post, I wrote on Macromedia Fireworks 8 – Best Image Editing Software 2010.

In this post, I will tell you the basic on editing photos. Follow the steps below:

1. Open your Fireworks 8 on your computer/notebook.

2. At the top, click ‘File’ and click ‘Open’. Choose the photo that you want to edit.

3. Then, the photo that you open will appear. Below is one example that I choose…

Open the photo's file

4. I just want my picture to be there. I don’t want the blue background. So, what I do is I use the Magic Wand tool at the left side. Magic Wand is used to erase the background that we don’t want.

5. After you click at the Magic Wand tool, click at the blue background and this will appear…

6. Then, just press ‘Delete’ on your keyboard and the background will be gone. Click at the background again and the unjotted line will disappear. Click at the Pointer tool at the top left side…

7. Then, we want to insert a new background for the picture. Go to ‘File’ and click ‘Import’ or you can just use shortcut keys Ctrl + R. Choose the background that you want. After you choose that you want, drag your mouse on the canvas and the background will appear. You will see that your picture just now is not there. Actually, your picture is behind the background. So, what you need to do is you see at ‘Layer’ on the right side, drag the background bitmap to the bottom of your picture bitmap. Now, your picture will be in front of the background.

8. Now, we want to add a text on the photo. See at the left side and click at the Text tool.

9. Drag your mouse on the part that you want to put your text. You can change the format at the ‘Properties’ at the bottom side such as size and colour. Then, to make the text more cool, you can add filters on your text. What I mostly use is ‘Glow’. After typing your text, click at anywhere on the screen and the ‘Filters’ will appear on the ‘Properties’. Click at the ‘+’ sign, go to ‘Shadow and Glow’ and click ‘Glow’. You can change the colour of the glow, I always use white.

10. Then, go to ‘File’ and click ‘Save As’ and you’re finish.

So, that is only basic editing. Try this first…
